Kara Kettering

Kara Kettering, PE, currently serves as the Manager of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at GSE Solutions, beginning in February 2023, where engineering design and analysis are provided to clients in the nuclear power and industrial sectors. Previously, Kara held the position of Director of Projects Engineering at Vistra Corp. from January 2020 to February 2023, overseeing design, engineering, budgeting, and scheduling for modifications at Comanche Peak. Kara worked at Luminant from January 2010 to February 2023, beginning as a Mechanical Engineer and eventually serving as the Manager of Maintenance Support, overseeing switch-yard activities and supporting maintenance programs. Additional roles included Corrective Action Program Supervisor and Design Engineer, focusing on mechanical design and obsolescence programs. Kara Kettering earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University, studying from 2007 to 2009, and attended Midland College from 2006 to 2007.
