Luca Benedetti

Luca Benedetti is an experienced energy professional currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Renewable Energy Working Party at the International Energy Agency since December 2022. With a career spanning over 18 years at GSE (Gestore Servizi Energetici), Luca has held various leadership roles, including Head of Energy Studies and National Energy and Climate Plan monitoring, and has acted as staff to the CEO. Prior to this, Luca worked at the Italian Ministry for the Environment as a Researcher and Project Manager. Luca holds a PhD in Energy Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma, a Master's in Energy & Environment Management from Università degli Studi di Roma 'La Sapienza' and the International Association of Energy Economists, and a Laurea cum laude in Chemical from Università degli Studi di Perugia.
