Drew MacFarlane

Dr. Drew MacFarlane is a Senior Research Manager at QS Quacquarelli Symonds since March 2020, spearheading governance, research, and engagement for the QS Rankings Suite and collaborating with a diverse global team to provide insights on university performance. Previously, Dr. MacFarlane served as a Fellow at The RSA from March 2022 to May 2023, and as Centre Director at Capstone Educational Group from November 2017 to January 2020, where oversight of a team of international education specialists in Shanghai was a key responsibility. Earlier experience includes a Lectureship at the University of York from January 2015 to October 2017, and a Postgraduate Researcher role at the University of Canterbury, culminating in a PhD in Psychology in 2014. Dr. MacFarlane also held a Centre Director position at Stafford House Study Holidays, managing a large educational facility and staff. Educational qualifications include an MA (Hons) in Business and an MLitt in English Linguistics from the University of Glasgow, alongside a PhD from the University of Canterbury.
