Sonja Newey

Sonja Newey has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sonja started their career in 1999 as a Telco Coordinator and Projects Administrator at INS in Coventry. In 2000, they joined Cable and Wireless INS as a Junior Project Manager, where they coordinated the installation of core network builds. In 2001, Sonja joined Telefónica UK as a Project Manager, where they successfully implemented company structural changes and improved customer service levels. Sonja then moved on to Toucan, London in 2005 as a Project Manager focused on broadband and VOIP products. In 2006, they joined Easynet Global Services as a Manager, Project Management, overseeing various projects until 2015. Sonja then joined GSMA in 2016 as a Senior Advocacy Programme Manager, Spectrum, responsible for managing national policies and regulatory objectives. In 2019, they became the Portfolio Director at GSMA, overseeing a global advocacy portfolio. Throughout their career, Sonja has demonstrated expertise in project management, team leadership, and improving customer service.

Sonja Newey attended Myton School in Warwickshire from 1986 to 1989. Sonja does not have a recorded degree or field of study from this period. In addition to their formal education, Sonja has obtained several certifications, including AgilePM® Practitioner from APMG International in 2022, Getting Things Done from LinkedIn in 2019, CMI Level 4 Certificate in Management and Leadership (QCF) from the Chartered Management Institute in 2014, PRINCE2 from PRINCE2.com in 2011, and Managing Successful Programmes from PRINCE2.com in 2010.
