Ryan McDermott, PhD, is the Director of Copyediting at Goodby Silverstein & Partners and a freelance writer and editor. With extensive experience in both management and editorial roles, Ryan's career spans academia, journalism, and advertising, including serving as Copy Chief for dot429 and editing research reports for Bright Research Group. Ryan has also taught English at UC Berkeley, where they received a PhD in English Language and Literature, and has contributed to various freelance editing projects, enhancing written content across multiple platforms.
