Ailani Roach is an undergraduate student at Fordham University, expected to graduate in 2028, currently serving as a researcher under Dr. Ellen van Wilgenburg, focusing on invasive species detection in urban areas. Previous experience includes roles as the Recruitment/Outreach Chair for the Mayor’s Youth Council in West Hartford, an academic researcher at UConn Health, and a personal care attendant at GT Independence. Ailani also contributed op-eds as a writer for The Fordham Observer and developed educational materials for pediatric health initiatives. Currently, Ailani is a peer tutor for various Spanish and health courses, demonstrating academic excellence with a strong background in both research and community engagement.
