Barry Wood has worked in a variety of roles within the academic and museum fields since 2003. From 2003-2006, they served as a Curator for the Victoria and Albert Museum, working on the Islamic Gallery Project. From 2004-2006, they were a Curator for the Museum With No Frontiers project. In 2006, Wood became an Assistant Professor at Yeditepe University, where they designed and taught a one-semester survey of Islamic art history. From 2008-2010, they were an Instructor at Boğaziçi University, where they designed and taught a two-semester survey of great ideas, literature, and art from ancient times to the present. In 2010, Wood was a Visiting Instructor at Boğaziçi University, where they designed and taught a course on Aesthetics. From 2011-2012, they were a Lecturer at Sabanci University. From 2012-2018, Wood was an Assistant Professor at Dixie State University, where they designed and taught five courses in Western and Non-Western Humanities. Since 2022, they have been an Associate Cyber Security Analyst for GuardSight, Inc.
Barry Wood has a diverse educational background. Barry obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History of Art from The Johns Hopkins University in 1992, followed by a Ph.D. in History of Art and Architecture from Harvard University in 2002. In 2021, they earned a Certificate in Cybersecurity from the University of Utah. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Cybersecurity Bootcamp Program from the University of Utah in 2021, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in 2021, CompTIA Network Vulnerability Assessment Professional – CNVP Stackable Certification and CompTIA PenTest+ ce Certification from CompTIA in 2022, CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in 2022, CompTIA A+ ce Certification from CompTIA in 2021, and Sumo Logic Fundamentals Certified from Sumo Logic in 2022.
