Angelo Pugliese

Angelo Pugliese serves as the Associate Director and Head of In Silico Discovery and Data Analysis at BioAscent since January 2021, while also advising for Atheneum and Guidepoint. Pugliese previously led the Computational Chemistry team at the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute, expanding its capabilities in artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance drug discovery processes. Experience at the National Cancer Institute involved developing machine learning models for drug metabolism prediction. Pugliese's early career included a postdoctoral fellowship at the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, focusing on computational structural biology. Pugliese holds a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the University of Nottingham and a BPharm in Pharmacy from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.
