Johannes van der Loo

Johannes van der Loo is the Director of the Clinical Vector Core at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, overseeing the manufacturing of AAV and Lentiviral vectors for Pharm/Tox studies and early phase clinical trials. With over 20 years of experience as a consultant at Guidepoint, Johannes specializes in scale-up and GMP manufacturing of viral vectors and the management of cleanroom facilities for aseptic biologics manufacturing. Previous roles include chairing the Institutional Biosafety Committee at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, directing Aseptic Processing Laboratories, and leading the Vector Production Facility. Academic experience includes positions as Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati and Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota. Johannes holds a PhD in Hematology from Erasmus University Rotterdam and advanced degrees in Immunology and Cell Biology from Utrecht University, complemented by a background as a Reserve First Lieutenant in the Royal Dutch Armed Forces.
