GUILD+FACET
Founder Matthew Ego’s family tradition spans back to the 1900's where their skills were honed as blacksmiths. Adapting into working with finer metals, father Simon Ego took to the jewelers’ workbench in 1970 where he trained as master jeweler. Creatively curious at a young age, Matthew spent countless days in the shop as a child, while beautiful works of art were being created. It was evident that his future would follow the traditions of creating beautiful works of art, from raw metals. After honing his skills in on the bench and in design. He ventured out of the workshop to spend countless years behind a counter, determined to better understand the challenges retailers faced. Young minded and optimistic Matthew quickly realized that the Internet would change the way we shopped. In order to stay competitive in today online market and in store, product, service, and delivery needed to be seamless. With training since adolescence, and seventeen years of experience under his belt, he saw an opportunity for his mark in the jewelry Industry. In 2016, encouraged by skilled artisans, and counseled partners Matthew’s passion found him looking for more. His passion and drive lead him to creating GUILD+FACET. The brainchild of seventeen years of determination to re-invent how we deliver jewelry essentials. "Successful leaders view the journey more like the captain of a sailboat, relying on their skill and know-how, but knowing all along that the wind (help from other sources) is the force that will get them to their destination."
