Gumtree Greys is a Melbourne-based, independent greyhound rescue and rehoming charity dedicated to the ethical rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of greyhounds exiting the Greyhound Racing Industry in Victoria. Since 2013, our volunteer-led organisation has provided a critical safety net for greyhounds who would otherwise face uncertain futures.

We undertake the full continuum of rescue: intake, veterinary care, behavioural assessment, foster placement, rehabilitation, adopter matching, and lifelong post-adoption support. Our work is grounded in compassion, professional expertise, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of every dog entrusted to us.
Gumtree Greys stands as a lifeline for greyhounds transitioning from racing environments into homes.

These gentle, sensitive dogs, often misunderstood, possess affectionate temperaments and adapt beautifully to family life when provided with appropriate support. Through our structured foster care model and informed adoption processes, we enable greyhounds to become cherished companions while ensuring adopters are well prepared for the journey.
