Riley Clement has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2003 with a role as Shift Supervisor at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club. In 2010, they became an ITAS Mathematics Tutor, Wollatuka Institute at University of Newcastle. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Shift Supervisor at Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, and also held the role of Operations Manager & Licensee and 2IC Bar Manager at FogHorn Brewery. In 2017, Riley became a Licensee at Newcastle City Australian Football Club, and also held roles as Modeller and Modelling Analyst at Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator. In 2020, they were Director/Treasurer at Carrington Bowling Club, and in 2022 they became Co-organiser at Hunter Data Analytics. Currently, Riley is an Optimization Engineer at Gurobi Optimization.

Riley Clement completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematics from the University of Newcastle between 2009 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Newcastle between 2004 and 2008, as well as a Bachelor of Computer Science from the same university between 2004 and 2007. In December 2020, they obtained two certifications from ClubsNSW: Director Foundation and Management Collaboration, and Finance for Club Boards.
