Thomas Braam has worked in the software engineering and CI/CD engineering fields since 2015. In 2021, they began working as a CI/CD Engineer for Gurobi Optimization, where their roles include leading the global development team's CI/CD efforts, overseeing the testing and deployment of software packages on multiple platforms and API's, and designing and developing a custom CI framework in Python. In 2020, they worked as a CI/CD Engineer for ASML, where they streamlined and optimized the integration and deployment process of lithography scanner machine software with Groovy, Jenkins pipeline libraries, and implemented shift-left on finding issues in the CI/CD process by using Python scripts. Thomas also worked as a Data Engineer for Adapt Analytics and a Software Engineer for INNOVA SOLUTIONS USA in 2020. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer for Change Healthcare, where they designed and led a 15-person, cross-teams, end-to-end, highly customizable, automated testing pipeline initiative, and created an automated data validation framework in Scala for complex Spark structures. In 2017, they worked as a Student Researcher for the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Oxford, where they implemented a novel method of modelling time resolution in metabolic models in Python and developed a new clustering method to analyse model results. In 2016, they worked as a Student Researcher for the Systems Bioinformatics group at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where they innovated a method for implementing automated, web-scraped genomic data in metabolic models and utilized a cluster for parallel solving a multitude of metabolic models. In 2015, they worked as a Student Researcher for the Systems Bioinformatics group at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Thomas Braam has a Master degree in Bioinformatics & Systems Biology from the University of Amsterdam, which they obtained between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor degree in Biomedische wetenschappen (Biomedical Sciences) from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) between 2012 and 2015. Thomas also holds several certifications, including Professional Scrum Product Owner I from Scrum.org (2020), AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) (2020), AWS Certified Developer - Associate from AWS (2020), CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer from The Linux Foundation (2020), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from AWS (2019), Reactive Architecture: Building Scalable Systems from Lightbend, Inc.
