Stuart B. Almer

Stuart B. Almer is currently the President & CEO at Gurwin Healthcare System. Prior to this, they were the Vice President Operations at Peninsula Hospital Center from January 1995 to December 2003. Stuart was responsible for the 472 bed acute and extended care facility. Under their leadership, they developed a managed care program which increased revenue by $2 million. Stuart also obtained private, state and federal grants totaling over $1 million. Moreover, they strengthened Medical Education programs which increased annual revenue by $500,000. In addition, they advised the Board of Directors on risk management, compliance and insurance matters. Furthermore, they assisted affiliation efforts with the North Shore Long-Island Jewish Health System and Beth Israel Medical Center. Lastly, they negotiated physician contracts and recruited new physician staff.

From January 1990 to December 1992, Stuart B. Almer was the Associate Administrator at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Afterwards, they became the Assistant Vice President at Huntington Hospital from January 1987 to December 1990. Lastly, they became the President and Chief Executive Officer at Gurwin Healthcare System.

Stuart Almer's educational career includes completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Adelphi University as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology from Purchase College, SUNY. Stuart also holds certifications from the New York State Department of Health as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and from the American College of Healthcare Executives as a FACHE.
