Gary Bethea

Gary Bethea is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in developing software applications and implementing robust technical practices. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Gusto since October 2024, Gary previously held similar roles at Stash and Medidata Solutions, where responsibilities included writing and maintaining code, providing diagnostic support, and adhering to regulatory requirements within Agile teams. Earlier positions include software engineering at Chicory, where Gary focused on multi-stack services and data analysis, as well as teaching roles and internships that contributed to a diverse skill set. Gary holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from The College of New Jersey. Additionally, Gary has gained international experience through teaching English in China and has developed a strong foundation in algorithm design, data processing, and DevOps practices.
