Gene D. is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering leadership. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at Gusto and an advisor at Level All, Gene previously held the position of CTO at FLYR, where a globally distributed team of over 300 engineers was led to optimize airline revenue through AI-driven pricing strategies. As an engineering leadership mentor for First Round Fast Track, Gene focused on nurturing the next generation of leaders. Prior roles include Head of Engineering at Meta, leading the development of a platform used by over 1 billion business users, and Head of Engineering at Atlassian for the Confluence product, which served millions globally. Gene's earlier career includes significant engineering roles at Groupon, Tripflavor, Ning, and VUDU.
