John Murphy

John Murphy is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in payment operations and treasury management. Currently serving as Head of Payment Operations & Treasury at Gusto since August 2021, John empowers teams in liquidity management, cash forecasting, and payment processing. Prior to Gusto, John held the position of RCOE Manager at Wells Fargo, leading reconciliation and exception resolution for Capital Markets and Treasury activities. John’s tenure at Ally Financial Inc. as Executive Director of Treasury Operations involved overseeing a significant operations team and developing Treasury functions. Earlier in John’s career, valuable experience was gained at LaSalle Bank/ABN AMRO, managing substantial fixed income portfolios. John holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa.
