Tim Yang

Tim Yang is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in engineering and finance. Currently serving as the Head of Retirement Planning Engineering at Gusto since November 2025, prior roles include Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, Engineering Team Lead, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer at Guideline from May 2018 to November 2025. Tim's earlier career includes positions as a Software Engineer at Earnest Inc., a Senior Investment Associate at Watershed Asset Management with oversight of a $200M portfolio, and a Senior Investment Associate at Cerberus Capital Management leading a team focused on mortgage-related investments. Tim also worked as a Securitization Analyst and Trader at Redwood Trust, managing large-scale securitization processes, and held various developer roles earlier in the career. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Science in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.
