Jonathan Powell is a seasoned insurance and underwriting professional with extensive experience in marine, energy, and technical lines, currently serving as Managing Director for Global Specialties at Guy Carpenter since October 2023. Prior to this role, Jonathan held various key positions at CNA Hardy, including Head of Lloyd’s Property & Casualty and Head of Engineered Property, overseeing diverse areas such as US and International Direct & Facultative, mining, and political violence insurance. Jonathan's career also includes significant experience at Acappella Syndicate, Talbot Underwriting Ltd, Hiscox, and Lloyd's of London, showcasing a strong focus on war, terrorism, and political violence underwriting. Jonathan holds a BA Hons in Management Studies from the University of Leeds.
