Matthew Cello

Matthew Cello is an experienced professional in the field of catastrophe analytics and meteorology, currently serving as Vice President at Guy Carpenter since April 2019, with a history of roles including Assistant Vice President and Catastrophe Modeling Analyst. Prior to this, Matthew worked as a Catastrophe Analytics Intern at JLT Re, where data analysis was performed on extreme precipitation events, and QGIS was utilized to assess the impact of major tornado events on insurance exposure. Earlier experience includes a Programmer Climatologist Intern position at the Midwestern Regional Climate Center, where web tools for climate data were developed, and a student volunteer role at the National Weather Service Chicago, focusing on tornado climatology. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University, obtained in 2019.
