Robert Long is a seasoned reinsurance broker currently serving as Senior Vice President at Guy Carpenter since 2012, focusing on the Global Casualty team. Prior to this, they worked as a Casualty Reinsurance Underwriter at Aspen Insurance UK Limited from 2005 to 2012 and as an Underwriting Manager for US Casualty Reinsurance at Converium AG in Zurich from 2002 to 2005. Long began their career as an underwriting assistant at St Paul Syndicate Management Ltd, ultimately becoming the Underwriter of Syndicate 183 before leaving in 2002. They hold a PhD in Insurance from Cass Business School and an MA in Geology from the University of Oxford, in addition to being a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
