Zain Awan

Zain Awan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Zain began their career at Officers Club as a Customer Service Representative before moving on to LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, where they worked as a Guest Service Associate. Zain then took on roles at Boots UK and Holiday Inn Express as an Operations Assistant and Guest Service Representative, respectively. In 2012, they worked as a Sales Associate at BONACON MEDIA LIMITED before joining Sapientia as a Tutor. Zain's professional career took a new direction in 2013 when they joined Willis Re as a Senior Actuarial Associate, eventually rising to the position of Assistant Vice President Actuary for both North America and London Specialty. Zain also managed a team of analysts in Mumbai and oversaw the actuarial and pricing analysis work. In 2019, Zain joined CyberCube as a Client Services Manager and later became a Strategic Client Partnerships / Actuary. Zain'smost recent role is with Guy Carpenter, where they are currently the Vice President, Reinsurance Broker and Actuary, focusing on sales, broking, structuring, analytics, as well as client and carrier relationship management. Zain also plays a key role in building the cyber insurance-linked securities (ILS) sector and specializing in cyber risk (Re)insurance, Insurance Linked Securities, and Alternative Risk Transfer solutions. Zain currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Senior Reinsurance Broker and Actuary at Guy Carpenter.

Zain Awan obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Actuarial Science from Cass Business School from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they attended Langley Grammar School from 2008 to 2010 where they completed their A Level in Economics, Maths, Chemistry, and Biology. Zain also attended Langley Grammar School from 2003 to 2008. In 2014, Zain enrolled in the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries to pursue further studies in Actuarial Science. Additionally, they obtained The Chaucer & Cambridge Judge Emerging Leaders Programme certification from Executive Education at Cambridge Judge Business School in 2022.
