Amy Berman

Amy Berman currently serves as the Deputy Director at the National Academy of Education since February 2015 and is an Adjunct Faculty member at The George Washington University's School and the Law and the Office of the Dean since September 2012. Previously, Amy Berman held the position of Enforcement Director at the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights from May 2011 to May 2012, and served at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Civil Rights Division, Educational Opportunities Section as Acting Section Chief and Principal Deputy from December 2002 to April 2011. Earlier in the career, Amy Berman worked as a Pro Bono Fellow and Litigation Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP from 1999 to 2002. Academic credentials include an EdS in Education Policy from the George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development, a JD from Harvard Law School (1994-1997), and a BS in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University (1992-1994).
