Chuchu Chen

Chuchu Chen is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at The George Washington University, leading the Estimation, Perception & Intelligent Computing Lab (EPIC Lab) since August 2025. The lab focuses on innovations in state estimation, sensor fusion, multimodal perception, and 3D scene understanding to advance Physical AI across applications such as drones, robots, autonomous vehicles, and XR devices. Prior to this role, Chuchu Chen served as a Research Assistant at the University of Delaware from August 2019 to August 2025, where work included the development of visual inertial navigation systems. Chuchu Chen earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Delaware, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin Engineering University.
