Doug Barry

Doug Barry serves as a Visiting Professor at United States International University - Africa and holds the position of Principal at Strategic Communication Doctors, alongside a role as Senior Advisor for Global Action on Gun Violence. With an extensive background in academia and communications, Doug has been an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University since 2019 and previously served as Vice President of Communications for the US-China Business Council. Earlier leadership roles include experience as Deputy Director of the Global Knowledge Center for the U.S. Commercial Service and City Council Member and Mayor Pro-tem for the City of Takoma Park, focusing on economic development and community advocacy. Doug holds an Ed.D. in Adult Education and Distance Learning from Columbia University and a Master's degree in Liberal Studies from New York University.
