Jonathan Deason is a Professor at The George Washington University, where since September 1996, Jonathan has directed the Environmental and Energy Management academic program and the University-wide Environmental and Energy Management Institute. Previously, from 1994 to 1996, Jonathan served as Vice President of Environmental Affairs at the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, focusing on enhancing environmental performance within the transportation construction sector. Earlier in his career, Jonathan was the Director of the Office of Environmental Policy and Compliance at the U.S. Department of the Interior, and Jonathan also managed the National Irrigation Water Quality Program during his tenure there from 1986 to 1989, overseeing a team dedicated to addressing irrigation-related contamination issues. Jonathan holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Systems from the University of Virginia, an MS in Environmental Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, a BS in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy, and an MBA in Management from Golden Gate University.
