Joyce Karam

Joyce Karam is a seasoned journalist and academic with extensive experience in international relations and political reporting. Currently serving as a Senior News Editor at Al-Monitor since December 2022, Karam also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University since January 2019. Prior to these roles, Karam was the Washington Correspondent for The National UAE from July 2017 to December 2022 and served as Washington Bureau Chief for Al-Hayat Newspaper from March 2004 to March 2018. Karam began a professional career as a Research Assistant at The Washington Institute For Near East Policy from June 2003 to March 2004. Karam holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from Arcadia University, completed graduate coursework in Political Science at Temple University, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Lebanese University.
