Mark Strand

Mark Strand is an author, professor, and former Congressional leader with over 24 years of experience enhancing legislative effectiveness on Capitol Hill. They served as the President of the Congressional Institute from 2007 to 2023, where they promoted Congressional reform and authored the guidebook *Surviving Inside Congress*. Currently, Strand is an Adjunct Professor of Legislative Affairs at George Washington University and previously served as a Chief of Staff for various Members of Congress and a U.S. Senator. In 2017, they were a Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Institute of Politics, engaging students in discussions about improving government functionality. Strand holds multiple degrees, including an MPS in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University.
