Michael Edwards

Michael Edwards has extensive experience in academia and public policy, currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management since 1989, and as Affiliate Faculty at the Global Food Institute starting in April 2024. As the Founder and Principal of Strategies for the Future L.L.C. since 2021, Edwards also contributed to the Biden-Harris Transition Team in 2020. Edwards' long tenure at the National Education Association (NEA) from 1982 to 2018 included various senior leadership roles, such as Senior Director and Senior Policy Advisor. Prior to NEA, notable positions included Director of Government Relations for the Association of Community College Trustees and Chief of Staff for U.S. Representatives. Edwards holds multiple advanced degrees in political science, international public policy, and education from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Cornell, the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, and The George Washington University.
