Michelle Stone

Michelle Stone is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in higher education. Currently serving as the Associate Vice President for Communications at The George Washington University since October 2005, Michelle has played a crucial role in leading internal communications, executing strategic communication plans, and advising university staff. Previous positions at the university include Director of Media Relations, where Michelle managed a media relations team and acted as a principal spokesperson, and Associate Director of Media Relations, providing expertise during crisis situations. Early career experience includes the role of Media Relations Associate at the Tennessee Valley Authority. Michelle holds an MBA from The George Washington University School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Communication Studies from Clemson University.
