Roberto Capanna

Research Professor

Roberto Capanna is a Research Professor at The George Washington University since April 2019, with prior experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Capanna earned a PhD in Mechanics with a focus on Thermal Hydraulics from Centrale Méditerranée, where the thesis involved developing a model for fluid forces under potential flow assumptions. Previous roles include development of neutronic models for the ITER diagnostic at IPFN and an internship at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, working on a calculation scheme for accident scenario simulations in nuclear reactor cores. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering from the same institution, alongside an Erasmus experience in Nuclear Engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
