Steven Farmer

Steven Farmer serves as the Chief Strategy Officer for Coverage at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, leading the redesign of evidence-based coverage policy for over 61 million Americans. With a strong background in shaping national payment policy for nearly 90 million individuals through various healthcare programs, Steven provides clinical and policy guidance as a senior advisor. Additionally, Steven holds an Associate Professor position at The George Washington University while maintaining a clinical practice in cardiology. Previous roles include leadership positions at Northwestern University and Duke University, along with consulting experiences in healthcare strategy and operations. Steven's extensive education includes a Doctor of Medicine from Yale School of Medicine and a PhD in Health Services Research & Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
