Tom Sims

Adjunct Professioral Lecturer

Tom Sims has extensive experience in the field of public health and education, currently serving as a Special Project Assistant at the Center for Local Health, WVBPH since March 2016 and as an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer at George Washington University since June 2014. Additional roles include consulting with Health Policy Analysis & Quality Improvement since January 2012, and volunteering with West Virginia AARP since February 2009, focusing on legislative advocacy for health care and promotion. Sims has also contributed to West Virginia University as an Adjunct Assistant Professor since 2002 and has held positions related to health policy and improvement, including coordinating performance improvement initiatives at Kanawha-Charleston Health Department and consulting with the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors. Educational credentials include a Master’s in Psychology from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s from West Virginia University, with prior studies at Duke University.
