John Douglas

John Douglas has over two decades of experience in the technology industry, serving in various leadership roles. John is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Gymshark, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to that, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Tory Burch from September 2016 to September 2020.

Douglas began their career in technology with Guiness Anchor Berhad (Malaysia) in November 1997, where they served as the IS Director until July 2000. John then spent three years as the Systems Development Director at Guinness plc before moving to Diageo Plc as the ERP Delivery & Support Director in July 2002. After a year in that role, they were promoted to Global Solutions Director in December 2003. In February 2006, Douglas left Diageo to become the Chief Technology Officer at Burberry, where they remained until March 2015.

After a brief stint as the Chief Information Officer at MCM Fashion Group from May 2015 to August 2016, Douglas returned to the CTO role at Tory Burch in September 2016. John held that position for four years before joining Gymshark as their CTO in September 2020.

They are on a team with Steve Hewitt - Executive Chairman, Dave Parry - Chief People Officer, and Danielle Petesic - Chief Product Officer. Their manager is Ben Francis, CEO.
