Alex Rice is the Co-Founder and CTO of HackerOne. Prior to HackerOne, Alex was the Head of Product Security at Facebook from December 2008 to May 2014. Before Facebook, Alex served as an early member of Websense Security Labs (now Forcepoint), an R&D group reporting to the CTO with the responsibility to develop product innovation that helped protect customers. At Websense, Alex and their team developed a globally distributed web crawling & classification infrastructure; in 2007 the system was classifying 200M unique URLs daily. The team also implemented continuous deployment of signatures & classifier updates enabling near real-time customer protection in the product (500+ daily updates from bi-weekly). In addition, they created an accessible data warehouse that served internal security researchers & data analysts in the production & distribution of threat intelligence. Before Websense, Alex worked as a Network Security Engineer for the State of Florida from February 2001 to January 2005.
