Founder/CEO at Hackingtons

Matthew Highland has had a diverse work experience over the past 17 years. In 2001, they began their career as an International School Teacher at Tokyo YMCA International School. In 2003, they moved to Kurushiki School District and worked as an English Language Teacher. In 2004, they became an Elementary School Teacher at Louise Van Meter Elementary. In 2007, they began working as a Sales Account Executive at COSCO SHIPPING Lines. In 2012, they moved to ZIM Integrated Shipping Services and continued in the same role. In 2014, they became the Founder/CEO of Hackingtons, a for-profit code school for kids with locations in the Northern California region. Since 2014, they have overseen the enrollment of approximately 4,200 kids.

Matthew Highland completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at San Francisco State University between 2008 and 2010, with a focus in Business. Matthew also obtained a Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University between 2000 and 2001, with a focus in Multiple Subject Elementary. Additionally, they obtained an Elementary Teaching Credential.
