Jong-Kai Yang

Jong-Kai Yang is the CEO and cofounder of HackMD. Prior to HackMD, they worked as a Security Engineer at Yelp (2017–2018) and as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy (2016–2017), where they developed software tools for research data processing (Climate Commander) and a Django web server to let researchers create computational jobs and dispatch them to remote server clusters. They earned a Master’s Degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from UC Berkeley School of Information (2015–2017) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from National Taiwan University (2004–2008). Earlier in their career, they were an Equity Analyst at CIMB (2012–2014), a Research Associate at Daiwa Securities Capital Markets (2011–2012), a Proprietary Futures Trader at Polaris MF Global Futures (2009–2010), and an Associate Analyst at Mindgence Capital (2010–2011).
