Sylvain Cortes

Sylvain Cortes has over 20 years of experience in the field of Identity & Access Management (IAM) and security. Sylvain has worked in various roles and companies, including Hackuity as Vice President of Strategy. In this role, they drove the company's overall strategy, supported pre-sales teams, and evaluated necessary functional evolutions. Sylvain also co-founded and organized Identity Days, an independent French event dedicated to identity management and cybersecurity. Additionally, they have served as a member of Hackers Without Borders and provided consulting services as an IAM Consultant and Active Directory/LDAP/Kerberos Expert. Sylvain has also worked at Tenable as a Security Strategist and at Alsid as a Security Evangelist. Sylvain has held teaching roles at the University of Grenoble Alpes and ESGI, where they taught courses on Windows & Security and IT administration. Furthermore, Sylvain worked at Cerberis, where they were responsible for increasing business in France for security and IAM solutions, managed global partnerships and alliances, and served as a business developer in the IAM and security market. Sylvain Cortes has a diverse education history. In 2014 to 2015, they attended Grenoble Ecole de Management, where they pursued a Mastère spécialisé degree in Systèmes d'information et Management. Following this, in 2022, they completed a brief program at MITRE ATT&CK Defender (MAD) in Cyber-opérations et guerre électronique, focusing on ATT&CK Fundamentals.

Additionally, in 2023 Sylvain pursued further education at AttackIQ Academy, where they completed a program titled "Mapping MITRE ATT&CK to CVE for Impact," emphasizing Sûreté de l'information des systèmes informatiques (information systems security).

In terms of certifications, Sylvain obtained a "Mapping MITRE ATT&CK to CVE for Impact Certificate" from AttackIQ in May 2023 and a "MITRE ATT&CK Defender (MAD) ATT&CK Fundamentals" certificate from Cybrary in December 2022.

Although the exact timing is unclear, Sylvain also holds a Maitrise degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I).
