Professor Simon Harrison is: the Director of The Centre Of Excellence for Cellular Immunotherapy at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Director of Clinical Apheresis at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, a leading myeloma doctor and a clinical scientist in the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology at Melbourne University.
His clinical research is focused on multiple myeloma and on examining novel therapies including novel drug combinations, early phase clinical trial design, incorporation of novel biomarkers into clinical protocols and cellular immune therapy such as CAR-T.
Professor Harrison's laboratory work focuses on the immunopathology of multiple myeloma, and the impact of novel drug combinations and cellular immune therapies. He is collaborating on the development of POL1 inhibitors in combination with other novel drugs to target ribosome biogenesis.
Professor Harrison is also the chair of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Group (MSAG) for Myeloma Australia.
