Michael Barnett is a seasoned IT audit leader with over a decade of experience specializing in governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks. Currently serving as Director of IT Internal Audit at a publicly traded insurance company, Michael has a strong background in IT SOX compliance and cybersecurity. Previously, Michael held multiple roles at Protiviti, including Senior IT Auditor and Associate Director, where they led a variety of IT audits and compliance initiatives. Deeply committed to the audit profession, Michael is a certified CISA and contributed to the sixth edition of *Internal Auditing: Assurance and Advisory Services*. Michael aspires to evolve into a Chief Audit Executive or SVP of Internal Audit.
