Haiti Babi makes hip baby products with meaning. Our baby blankets are handmade by moms in Haiti. When you support Haiti Babi, you empower Haitian moms to care for their families and break the cycle of poverty.

In Haiti, one in ten children lives in an orphanage. Yet, 80% of these children have at least one living parent. They are orphaned by poverty, because their parents cannot find a job. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, with more than 70% of citizens living on less than $2 per day. Unemployment nationwide is above 40%, and more than 80% of those working do so informally, meaning their incomes are highly unpredictable.

Haiti Babi is a sustainable solution to this problem. Haiti Babi trains moms to crochet and knit, and they make high-quality stylish baby blankets for sale in the US. By offering moms in Haiti a hand-up, not a hand-out, they are empowered to work, earn a living, keep their children, and pull themselves and their families out of extreme poverty.
