Van Taylor

Van Taylor is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both public service and the private sector. Currently serving as a Venture Partner at Hale Capital Partners since April 2023, Taylor has a strong background in supporting technology businesses as an investor. Previously, Taylor represented approximately 900,000 constituents in Collin County, Texas, as a U.S. Representative from January 2019 to January 2023, where involvement included key committees focused on security, education, and financial services. Taylor's political career also includes serving as a State Senator from 2015 to 2019 and as a State Representative from 2010 to 2015, addressing critical issues such as cybersecurity and workforce training. Alongside public service, Taylor held significant roles in financial institutions, notably as Vice Chairman of Texas Gulf Bank and Director at Churchill Capital Company. Taylor began military service as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and led a reconnaissance platoon in Iraq. Academic credentials include an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Harvard University.
