Engineer at Half Helix

Dan Hemerlein is an Engineer at Half Helix. Prior to that, they were a Junior Front-End Engineer at Thinx Inc from January 2019 to August 2021. There, they built React components as part of a full site rebuild / headless migration project. Dan also developed website pages, features and capabilities for our Shopify web properties using JavaScript/jQuery and HTML/CSS. Additionally, they recommended technologies, development practices and solutions for a streamlined workflow both within the engineering team and cross-functionally. Furthermore, they implemented A/B tests using the personalization platform Dynamic Yield and assisted with product creation, launch process and sunsetting using the Shopify platform. Dan also coded HTML email templates for marketing campaigns and performed bug fixes, code review and internal documentation creation. Prior to that, they were a Web Development Intern at Sanctuary Computer Inc from September 2018 to December 2018. Before that, they were a Data Coordinator at Downtown Music Publishing from August 2016 to February 2018.

Dan Hemerlein is a music theory and composition major at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

They work with KJ Chabra - Engineering Manager, Allye Vice - Frontend Developer, and Lisa Vineberg - Frontend Developer. Dan Hemerlein reports to Max Rolon, Director of Engineering.
