Pierre Pinson

Chief Scientist at Halfspace

Pierre Pinson has extensive work experience in the field of design engineering, data-centric design engineering, and operations research and analytics. Pierre is currently serving as the Deputy-Head of School and Chair of Data-centric Design Engineering at the Dyson School of Design Engineering. In addition to their current roles, they are also the Chief Scientist at Halfspace - A Data, Analytics & AI Company. Pierre Pinson previously held positions at DTU - Technical University of Denmark, where they worked as an Adjunct Professor, Operations Research and Analytics, and as the Head of the Energy Analytics & Markets group. Pierre has also worked as an Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Post-doc, conducting research in mathematical modelling for energy systems. Furthermore, they have held editorial positions at the International Journal of Forecasting and Wind Energy (Wiley). Pierre Pinson's expertise and experience span various areas including stochastic process modelling, forecasting, optimization, and power systems engineering.

Pierre Pinson earned their Ph.D. in Energetics from Mines Paris between the years 2002 and 2006. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the Institut national des Sciences appliquées de Toulouse from 1997 to 2002. Pierre also completed their Baccalaureat in Mathematics and Engineering at lycee pilote innovant du futuroscope from 1994 to 1997.
