Jonathan Catton

Head of TechOps at Hallam

Jonathan splits his time between the Paid Media & Insights departments at Hallam. This sees him deliver exceptional results to his clients while also working on improving data integration & statistical understanding both internally and for clients.

Jonathan has been working with Hallam since he graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Masters in Physics in 2016. During this time Jonathan has risen through the ranks to his current role as a Consultant. He now has key responsibilities in the managing and improvement of Hallam’s client reporting process.

Jonathan adopts a data-based approach to Paid Media Marketing. He specialises in in-depth analysis of the accounts to find the core underlying reasons for shifts in performances. This allows him to make the correct changes in order to adapt to the ever-changing marketplace.

He has also helped to build out Hallam’s automation suite. This covers bidding, automated alerts and aids to reporting for both the Paid & other teams at Hallam. This typically involves interfacing with several different APIs in order to effect the desired outcome.

Finally, Jonathan has also spoken about his work in several places, ranging from educational talks at the UoN, to instructional talks on data analysis to local entrepreneurs. In addition, he also appeared on SEMrush’s Marketing Scoop podcast talking about the techniques Hallam employs to help mid-sized retailers compete against the giant multi-nationals.
