Michael Pierce

Michael Pierce is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in software development, automation, and engineering management. Currently serving as the Octiv Automation Program Lead at Halliburton, Michael has held multiple roles, including Data Driven Drill Bits Technology Manager and Drill Bit Technology Discipline Manager, where responsibilities included architecting and upgrading CAD automation software for Fixed Cutter PDC drill bits and researching drill bit performance correlations. Prior to Halliburton, Michael worked at Applied Research Laboratories at The University of Texas at Austin as an R&D Ionospheric Modeler, developing advanced tools for radio-frequency transportation simulations, and as a Mechanical Engineering Graduate Research Assistant, contributing to significant projects for the US Navy. Michael's educational background includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Math, and a minor in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University.
