Head of Product Engineering at Halter

Benjamin Sweney has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and positions. Benjamin is currently the Head of Product Engineering at Halter, a position they have held since July 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Acting Head of Product Engineering and Head of Applications within the same company. Benjamin also held the role of Culture Lead at Halter starting from December 2019.

Before joining Halter, Benjamin co-founded SmartCoach Training Limited in September 2017, where they worked as a Co-Founder until September 2020. Benjamin also co-founded Hypebeat in March 2018 and served as a Co-Founder until September 2019.

Benjamin has extensive experience in the field of web design and development. Benjamin founded JagDogWeb, their freelance web development company, in late 2008. Benjamin specialized in frontend development, CMS integration, brand identity, advertising, mobile development, hosting, email, and domain expertise. Benjamin worked with various clients on a global scale until December 2016.

Additionally, Benjamin has worked as a Freelance Web Designer & Developer at Sweney Co., a rebrand of their freelance web development services. Benjamin provided high-quality website development, hosting, and domain services to small businesses from December 2016 to October 2018.

Furthermore, Benjamin has had contract work experience as a UI/UX Designer at iDigital Ltd, a boutique digital agency specializing in website design, search engine optimization, and brand identity. Benjamin was responsible for content entering, template creation, and brand identity from December 2016 to August 2017.

One of Benjamin's earlier roles was as a Full Stack Developer at The Social Club Co., where they worked on a short-term contract to complete the MVP platform connecting social influencers and brands. Benjamin'sskills included frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript - specifically Vue.js) and backend work (Laravel, Spark), including OAuth integration and socket integration. Benjamin worked in this role from April 2017 to June 2017.

Benjamin Sweney attended Ararimu School from 2003 to 2011, where they completed their primary education. Benjamin then went on to Rosehill College, where they studied from 2012 to 2016 and obtained a Level three NCEA with excellence endorsement. Afterward, they enrolled at The University of Auckland in 2017 and completed their education there in 2018. Benjamin earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees, although the field of study is not specified.
