Mark Weir

Mark Weir is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive expertise in data science, machine learning, and computer vision. Currently serving as the Head of Engineering for Data at Halter since June 2023, Mark oversees a team dedicated to creating predictive systems for agricultural management utilizing advanced technologies such as remote sensing and time series modeling. Previously, Mark was the VP of Engineering at Imagr, where leadership encompassed a cross-disciplinary team focused on innovative computer vision technologies for retail. Prior roles include Head of Engineering at Meta, where Mark contributed to AR/VR core technologies, and Software Engineering Manager at Lytro, where Mark honed managerial skills and technical proficiency in complex computer vision challenges. Mark's early career included significant engineering positions at TomTom, Navman Technologies Ltd, and Phitek Systems Ltd. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in computer vision from The University of Auckland and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Engineering from Massey University.
