Hamar Game Events (HGE) is a non-profit volunteer organization with a goal to provide creative, social and learning activities within gaming and game development. We strengthen the long-standing local game culture by organizing Global Game Jam Hamar as well as other events related to game development. 

We provide a variety of activities within gaming targeted towards children, youth and adults in collaboration with the game development community in Hamar, Inland University and the Game School, Hamar municipality, Eastern Norway Film Center, Valmuen student association, educational partners and sponsors. HGE is a part of Hamar’s UNESCO Creative Media Arts collaboration. 

The organization’s board members, volunteer organizers and collaboration partners have years of  experience with organizing big events within game development. Hamar Game Events was founded by the organizer team behind GGJH, which has been organized for 16 years and is the 10th biggest jam site in the world. 

Our events are organized through volunteering, are open to all and provide space for learning. We provide public benefit by promoting common experiences within the gaming culture, inclusivity and promote diversity in communications, volunteering and social spaces.
