In the spring of 1934, during the height of the Great Depression, thirteen captains and engineers came together in Reykjavík, Iceland, to form a production company. Their mission was to address a critical shortage of commercial fishing gear—specifically trawl nets, tows, and fishing lines—for the Icelandic fishing fleet. 

They named the company HAMPIDJAN. 

Since then, Hampidjan has grown into a global leader in advanced rope technology, specializing in solutions for the Offshore, Maritime, Mining, Defence, Seismic and Commercial Fishing industries. Today, we operate in 74 locations across 21 countries, with more than 2,700 employees worldwide. 

Hampidjan is proudly listed on Nasdaq Iceland, a milestone that has supported our strategic growth, including the acquisitions of Vonin, Morenot, and Kohinoor Ropes.

Our Australian branch is located in Yatala on the Gold Coast, where we operate from a brand-new, state-of-the-art 1,800 m² production and warehouse facility. Additionally located in Cairns is another distribution centre to directly support the Cairns fishing and maritime fleet.
